The Snow Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata) is a rare and eye-catching variation of the classic Amano shrimp, prized for its pale, milky-white to translucent coloration. Unlike traditional Amanos with dotted patterns, Snow Amanos display a much lighter, cleaner appearance—making them stand out beautifully in planted aquariums.
Despite their unique look, Snow Amano Shrimp retain the same incredible algae-eating abilities that make Amanos a staple in the hobby. They actively graze on algae, biofilm, detritus, and leftover food, helping maintain a clean and balanced aquarium.
Their lighter coloration can appear almost frosted or “snow-like,” especially under aquarium lighting, giving them a subtle yet premium aesthetic compared to standard Amano shrimp.
Each shrimp may feature:
