The Red Fancy Tiger Shrimp is a stunning hybrid Caridina variety prized for its bold red coloration, intricate tiger striping, and highly variable patterning. Each individual displays a unique combination of opaque white coverage, red saturation, and detailed banding — making every shrimp truly one of a kind.
Fancy Tigers originated from crossing Tiger shrimp with Pure Red Line (PRL) Caridina, combining the sharp striping of Tigers with the rich red and white genetics of Crystal Reds. Over time, breeders refined these lines to produce stronger shell thickness, deeper color opacity, and more defined leg coverage.
Grading is typically based on:
- 🔥 Color depth and shell opacity (A–SSS grading scale)
- 🐅 Distinct tiger striping and pattern clarity
- 🦵 White leg coverage and body balance
White-dominant individuals are often referred to as White Dominant Fancy Tigers, while others may display heavier red saturation depending on genetics.
The Red Fancy Tiger A–SS (Medium Grade) displays attractive body patterning with balanced red and white coverage. Pattern intensity, leg coloration, and transparency will vary from shrimp to shrimp.
All shrimp are disease-free and aquarium-safe, bred in clean, shrimp-only environments for optimal health and acclimation.
Note: All Caridina shrimp are sold as unsexed juveniles, typically between 1/4" and 1/2" in size when possible.
