The Orange Eye Black Demon Shrimp is a rare and dramatic new mutation of the classic Black Rose Shrimp, instantly recognizable by its intense orange eyes set against an inky black body. As a Neocaridina variety, it combines ease of care with exceptional visual contrast, making it ideal for both beginners and serious collectors.
First bred by Michael Haesler in Germany, this line officially debuts in 2025 and is offered in extremely limited quantities. Its glowing orange eyes paired with its jet-black shell give it a “demonic” mystique, especially when kept on light or contrasting substrates.
These shrimp are active, hardy, and help maintain tank cleanliness by grazing on biofilm and algae throughout the day—making them a functional and eye-catching addition to any shrimp tank.
Each shrimp typically features:
