The Lemon Yellow Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata) is a vibrant and unique variation of the classic Amano shrimp, known for its subtle yellow to golden hue. This newer color strain brings a refreshing pop of color while maintaining the unmatched utility Amano shrimp are famous for.
Like traditional Amanos, Lemon Yellow Amano Shrimp are exceptional algae eaters—constantly grazing on hair algae, biofilm, detritus, and leftover food. Their translucent bodies carry a soft yellow tint that can range from pale lemon to warmer golden tones depending on lighting, diet, and environment.
These shrimp are slightly larger and more active than most dwarf shrimp, making them highly effective cleaners and a great addition to planted tanks or aquascapes.
Each shrimp may feature:
