The Koi Red Galaxy Cloud Plakat Betta (Betta splendens) is a striking premium Betta variety prized for its vivid red-and-white koi pattern, shimmering galaxy-like scales, and compact Plakat finnage. Each fish develops a completely unique pattern, combining bold patches of red with contrasting white or pale scales and iridescent metallic accents that create a dramatic, almost painted appearance.
🌌 Koi Galaxy Coloration
Koi Red Galaxy Cloud Bettas are selectively bred for their intense red-and-white marbled coloration and reflective galaxy scaling. Brilliant red patches spread across a lighter white, cream, or translucent base, while metallic scales may produce flashes of blue, silver, turquoise, or pearl depending on the individual fish and lighting.
The distinctive "Cloud" pattern creates irregular areas of white and red across the body, giving each Betta a one-of-a-kind appearance. As with other Koi and marble Bettas, coloration and pattern may continue to develop as the fish matures.

Packaging & Sexual Dimorphism
All Bettas are sold individually. Males typically develop stronger coloration, broader finnage, and a more pronounced overall appearance. Juveniles and younger fish may not yet display their full adult coloration, and Koi-pattern Bettas may continue changing in color and pattern as they mature.

Minimum tank size: 4 gallons (≈15 L), though 5–10 gallon aquariums provide better stability and swimming space

Provide a well-cycled aquarium with gentle water movement and plenty of plants, caves, driftwood, or other cover. Broad-leaf plants and resting areas near the surface are especially appreciated. Plakat Bettas have shorter fins than Halfmoon varieties and are generally strong, active swimmers, so they benefit from plenty of open swimming space.
Male Bettas should be housed individually and should not be kept with other male Bettas. If adding tankmates, choose peaceful species that will not nip fins or compete aggressively for territory.
Diet
Koi Red Galaxy Cloud Plakat Bettas are carnivorous and thrive on a varied, protein-rich diet. Feed a high-quality Betta pellet as the staple food and supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, or similar small aquatic foods. Feed small portions 1–2× daily and avoid overfeeding.
Lifespan
With proper care and stable water conditions, Koi Red Galaxy Cloud Plakat Bettas typically live 3–5 years.
