The Blue Shadow Mosura Shrimp is a stunning Taiwan Bee variety, selectively bred from Black Panda and Blue Bolt shrimp. Known for their deep black-and-blue coloration and signature Mosura head pattern, these shrimp are a captivating centerpiece for any Caridina-focused tank.
The “shadow” refers to the rich blue hues that emerge and intensify as the shrimp matures, while “Mosura” describes the distinct white head pattern that sets them apart. Their coloration varies with age and genetics, ranging from soft blue gradients to vivid indigo contrasted with solid black or white markings.
These shrimp are part of the Taiwan Bee family, which originated from mutations of Crystal Red, Crystal Black, and Golden Bee shrimp. While a bit more sensitive than beginner-friendly types, they are prized for both their appearance and their compatibility — they can be safely housed with other Taiwan Bee shrimp without hybridizing.
Each shrimp may feature:
- 🔷 Blue body hue with distinct Mosura-style white head pattern
- 🖤 Black or dark blue patches inherited from panda lineage
- 📏 Sold at 0.5"–0.75"; can grow to ~1 inch
